Cold and flu season can be challenging. Here are some guidelines from Attendance Works for parents about when to send students to school and when to keep them home:

Send to school if:

  • student has a runny nose or just a little cough, but no other symptoms
  • student hasn’t taken any fever reducing medicine for 24 hours and hasn’t had a fever during that time
  • student hasn’t thrown up or had any diarrhea for 24 hours

Keep student at home if:

  • student is throwing up or has diarrhea
  • student’s eyes are pink and crusty

Call the doctor if:

  • student has a temperature higher than 100 degrees for more than two days
