Board Meeting Adjourned to October 18, 2018

The regular meeting of the Cascade Union Elementary School District Board of Education scheduled for October 10, 2018, was adjourned due to lack of a quorum. The meeting will be held on October 18, 2018, at 6:00 p.m. at the Anderson Middle School band/multipurpose room.

Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP)

Under California’s new public education funding rules, school districts are required to adopt a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) that describes the actions, services and expenditures that support student growth. The LCAP clarifies how programs and services will be measurably improved in quantity or quality, as a result of proportionate increases in funding for all students as well as state identified subgroups including students designated as low income, Foster Youth, English Learners and Students with Disabilities.

Board Provisional Vacancy

The Cascade Union Elementary School District, located in Anderson, CA, is seeking Letters of Interest and Candidate Information Sheets from residents interested in filling a provisional vacancy on the Board of Trustees to serve until 12-7-2018. At that time the seat will become a 4 year seat and can be applied for at the Elections office. Registered voters residing within the Cascade Union Elementary School District area of service are eligible to apply. Letters must be received at the address below at or before noon on November 7th at the District Office at 1645 W. Mill St, Anderson CA 96007.

2015 CAASPP Testing Results

The State of California is releasing the test results for the State, counties, districts and schools. This is the first year of the new State Standards Test. It is very difficult in the first year of a new test to know how we did as a District or as individual school sites because this is the baseline data year. The results show that 25% of our students were proficient in English Language Arts and 24% in Math. As we did a first look around the neighboring school districts, we tend to be on the lower end. But what do those comparisons really mean is the difficult question to answer.
